Team effort

Photographers are often self-centered ego maniacs. That’s a fact. Maybe it’s because we get to do for a living what most people consider a hobby? Maybe because our work is put under the spotlight? Maybe because we propose the viewer to see life through our unique eye and approach to life! Please read these lines with irony. I don’t know what it is, but we feel so damn special!

Living behind the camera is full of contradictions. We shoot people to put them under the light, though even in the shadows we try to shine. Too many times, the photographer gets full creative credits while a full team is hidden somewhere behind the image.

This post is dedicated to them (what a grand gesture!). But honestly, I always feel blessed to work alongside talented people. Models who can embody your vision. Makeup artists who can translate your inspirations into brush strokes. Stylists who can uplift a scene by creating a unique mood. Hair stylists who can either create perfection or organized chaos. Assistants who can understand you with very few words and offer you a different point of view on things, allowing you to elevate your own vision. Art directors and fellow artists who can inspire you through their ideas on a conceptual level.

After all, maybe we just feel so great about ourselves because we get to work with so many talented people, getting to know them on a human level, creating strong creative ties to further our own creativity and grow as artists… Or maybe we’re just pricks, go figure!
