Friday was my last business day and for the next two weeks, I will be surfing the coast of California. So I’m packing up my bags and picking up my rental straight out of LAX to head out to San Diego to enjoy the best of the Golden State! A lot of nature and walks to relax with the family. A great period for introspection. There is a lot on my mind right now. Positive thoughts, things that need to change. But change is never easy. Taking a break however allows the process of change to take place. I feel like I’ve reach a new step in my career. I do not calculate success in terms of money or prizes, but rather in terms of pictures and skills. This year was a successful year. Lots of great projects I was proud to be part of. It also tought me my limitations, as I took on a lot, maybe a bit more than I could chew on, so next year I will have to pace myself and make better decision as the line I wish to trace. I always saw myself as a multi-faceted photographer. This year I will need to narrow down this multi personality disorder in order to focus on my own work. And this will be done through personal work. Hopefully lots of it. This is a promise I make myself every year, a promise I intend to keep this coming year! Downtime is coming, but this year I’m looking forward to it, I am not scared…
