Because of all the work that I’ve done with designers, I kinda made myself an Installation Photography Specialist. People have started to see me as a product photographer, something I had never even considered myself. I must admit that during the last year, I’ve taken pleasure in shooting inanimate objects and lighting them. However, I don’t see myself as a typical product shooter. I think that when it comes to products, I want things to remain in the conceptual realm. I couldn’t just start shooting products for the sake of reproduction. There needs to be an idea driving the image further conceptually than mere representation.

I’ve been wanting to shoot product-based series for some time now, with a couple of ideas written down carefully in my moleskine. Now I just need the time to sit down and get these series into production. But rather than waiting for the perfect idea, I should just be shooting. Something else to put in my Action Book!
