I am currently shooting for a couple of days in a garage. A real garage. It’s dirty and my clothes smell like Pennzoil! But we’re having a blast. Just the setup for the shoot was fun to assemble. We made sure nothing would touch the ground other than the extension cords since we needed access to put down large scale material. Have a look!
As you can see, we created a grid system to hook up our camera and lighting. We installed cross-poles to setup our strip lights and kept another pole on a separate extension to fix the camera so this way the camera could be independent from our lighting and could be adjusted freely.
We setup our command center from a table next to the setup and controlled the camera at a distance shooting tethered. This may well be the nerd in me speaking, but I like creating such setups. Always enjoyed playing Lego as a kid!
