2011 has been an hectic year in my life. As exciting as it was, I’m kinda happy to bid it farewell! Seeing my daughter grow is perhaps the highlight of this whole year as I have also grown by her side, discovering fatherhood. I’ve also seen two dream projects coming to reality. Custom designing and building my own house is definitely a life-defining experience! In two months, we should be moving in. Getting to design and build the new studios and expand the realm of Made of Stills has also led us to an incredible journey. One that will continue in the year to come as we define our new structure and present the new entity.
The more I think about it, the more I realize that 2011 was simply a transition year, laying the foundation for the one to come. It was both a fun and difficult year for me. Learned a lot of important business lessons. I also learned to pace myself and my expectations. Building relationship takes times, the lasting ones at least!
For 2012, once the dust has settled (literally!), I plan on getting focused on work. With less distractions, this ought to be a true production year. Hopefully the contracts will follow. Otherwise, no harm done. Just more time to develop personal work.
It’s with this state of mind that I will approach 2012. Can’t wait to get started!
