The Library! And in Montreal, we have access to the Bibliotheque Nationale, a fine institute of knowledge! A simple subscription and you can have access to books, obviously, but also Cds and Dvds and all for the sweet price of Free! Unfortunately, they don’t have much of a selection for photography, though i saw some great Yousuf Karsh books. But they don’t seem to have anything from the past decade. But photographers aren’t limited to photography books, there are tons of ressources for fashion, architecture, drawing, painting and there are exhibitions too. Personally, I get influenced a lot by movies, videoclips and ads in general. And if you’re in the neighborhood ith 2 hours to waste, you can watch movies on location just by getting a personal station. Anyways, next time you’re downtown, just walk by and get your access card done if you don’t have it already!
