For those who don’t know me, I’m a Canon fan. I’m not taking anything away from Nikon but I’ve always prefered the way they do things. Canon vs. Nikon is just like Mac vs. PC, a lot of talk! But what it all comes down to is getting what works for you. I’ve always felt that Canon was a step ahead of the game in terms of technology but I am really pleased with what I’m seeing from this Chase Jarvis D90 trial! The first good news is that Nikon is no longer using the CCD sensor and opted for the 12.3 Megapixel CMOS sensor (which Canon has been using for quite some time now!) which should result in much better response to noise. But where Nikon really pushes the bar is by having the Live View feature which allows you to frame the picture in a point in shoot matter but with the quality of a D-SLR. What this new feature hides is a brand new D-Movie function. You can now capture video in real 720P quality with your camera and have control over your Depth of Field! Now that’s something! All of this won’t make me switch, the rumor has it that Canon will be launching the 50D with the Live View feature and a 15 Megapixel Digic4 Sensor. Now if they can put all those new features into the 5D!
